Beautiful Suchitra Sen was perhaps one of the most respected actresses of her times having given brilliant performances in some of the most well known Classical films in Bengali and Hindi. She had been ailing since a couple of years now and was in the intesnsive care being treated for respiratory problems. She was 82 and since more than a decade she was never seen in public...She leaves behind daughter Moon moon sen and two grand daughters Ria and Raima Sen. May her soul rest in peace !

    I liked her role in the movie Andhi. This film was probably banned for some time as this resembled Indira Gandhi Story. She will always be remembered for her excellence in Bengali as well as Hindi cinema.

    It was banned for quite some time because the story bore a lot of resemblance with life of Indira and Feroze Gandhi!

    Andhi and Devdas are two successful Hindi movies, strangely she did not act in many Hindi films. In Bengali with Uttam Kumar she has huge number of popular movies. She died of massive heart attack.

    One more film where she gave a sterling performance was Mamta - she had a double role in that and the film was known for its melodious music composed by Roshan ... I also liked her role in Bambai ka babu with dev anand and Champakali with Bharath Bhushan both of which I watched recently ...

    She was a very beautiful and talented actress. I have watched her only in Andhi and her performance in that movie was something to remember by. Its such a great loss.

    Suchitra Sen was an award winning actress in both Tollywood as well as in Bollywood. She was talented actress. I have seen her suitable in different types of role which she has performed so well. I feel sad to read that she is no longer among us.
