Haryana has recently witnessed a shocking 15 rape cases in the last single month. To curb the the harassment of women in the city the Khaap Panchayats from all over the state have scheduled to meet today. It may come out with a decision to lower the age of marriage of girls from 18 to 15 or 16 years!
Is this decision right and will it be helpful to curb such cases and ensure women safety in the state? Add your view points.

Rape case is different and lowering the age of marriage is different. I don't understand the reason behind lowering the age of marriage in Haryana.
Rapists must be caught and severe punishment should be given to them. They hanger after women whether she is married or unmarried. We should not treat them like humans. If possible Government should change the punishment of 7 years imprisonment to a capital punishment.

Making early marriage is not the right solution for such worst things. Very powerful punishment must be given to the culprit so that no one will think about attempting such crimes even in their dream

I have read many cases in the paper and in tv about the married women was rapes. Women has no protection at all but that means they should not be punished by early marriage. the culprit should be severely punished in such a way no other person will try to look towards a women for attempting such a worst thing

Yes that's true there are many cases where rape is done with a married woman what to do in that case.They should also think about it also. Only thing we can do is to give some hard punishment to the culprits. :blink:

Even in andhra pradesh also they are thinking pass a rule of making marriages of age 15 years for boys and girls. This is really bad. IF such rule is passed then government people are unfit to control such dirty attempts on girls.

But that's not the right way to stop the crime they must think something else to reduce it. :blink:

If the crimes still go on even after reducing the age to 15-16, would they fix an age to 12 later or child marriage would again come in to force. But would that be able to stop the crime. A very strict action/faster against criminals is the need of the day.

If I am not mistaken they had one more case of rape , that too a minor girl raped by a middle aged man , just a few days back and 20 cases in one month alone- goes to show the kind of lawlessness they have there. I read a news report where the Police Inspector is supposed to have said that for them these cases are just case numbers, sad to note that when a teenaged girl has lost everything,people in responsible position come up with such insensitive remarks...

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

There's no heavy punishment for rape or murder in our country. I think that's the important reason. With enough money and power one could easily bail out for almost every crime in our country and be a free man.

It is not the solution to marry the girls at an early age what is needed is a severe punishment. Those people who did such crime should be punished hardly.
