Top user of the day in the home page?

Hi friends I have a suggestion

We knew that users work very hard for achieving 2000 points and eligible for revenue sharing.

So why can't we display the names of the user who got maximum points on that day and this must be in live time, i.e if a use "A" has 300 points in that particular day, his name will be displayed and if a user "B" works hard and achieve to reach 301 pints, then the name of the user B must be there in the home page.So this will motivates other user to make sure that their name is also displayed in the home page under the title "Top contributor of the day" or "Active User of the day" .

This will make the new members to click on the name and also provides a chance to read various article written by those user.I believe users will enjoy this and will work hard to make sure that they are the Active user of the day and their name beying displayed in the home page.

We can also indicate the top 3 user of the day based on the points in the home page and this will motivates for the rest of the users to give some effort to overtake the first rank user and make their name get displayed in the screen.

Hi friends please give your suggestion or different ideas that can be modified, from this one.

But I have a doubt.How can we list the name on that day ?His points are credited for a day and do you mean to consider instantaneous points?

Hi Abid, my point of view to display the name of the top point getter of he name page is just like a live score, i.e the points will get updated instantaneously.

When the day starts one may be getting 20 points by voting, at that time let us consider only some users are there and his name will be displayed at that time, but during the peak hours when many users contribute to the site and get more points, he may replace the previous user and his name will be displayed. So it will be a like a competition between users to maintain the name in the home page and we can expect this will increase page views.

Moderators can also inform at the end of the day who is the top contributor of that day.

I believe you can understand now Abid. What is your suggestion Abid?

@ Raaghav,

It is a good idea. They can display like the "Top gainers/losers" in share markets websites which keep on changing. Here may be they can have some time frame like 30 minutes. Every 30 minutes the list will be updated.

Ya mam, that was my suggestion and they can also update it as soon as the points changes i.e when a user overtakes the previous top user of that day.

But if some one gets high point between this 30 minuts interval and losses it after 30 minuts his name will not come in list. The idea is good if implemented correctly.

Hi Abid, if possible we may not use this time interval, rather whenever a user in the second spot overtakes the first, automatically his/her name will be displayed ion the home page..( Like a live update points)

But the moderators must take the final decision, as they knew the complexity involved in this..

I think names of all those who get proportionate eligible points should be indicated as likely winners. Presently, fifteen users appear likely winners. A users should earn on an average 70 points in a day. So, all those who have earned around 700 pointson date are likely winners if they are steady till end of month. Personally, I cannot devote the required time as I am more occupied with my professuional job but still I try to contribute to the site to my maximum.
