A floppy disk is also called as because they are made up of a flexible plastic plate and that can be bend and they are also known as a 'Floppies'. A floppy disk drive is a device used to read/write data from a disk. It had spindle to mount and rotate the disk and read/write data from the disk. It is a interchangeable disk type and allow a loading and unloading of a different floppy disk and when they are to be used.
