Fire effect for Text.

1.) Open a new file and make the Background color- Black and the Foreground color- White.

2.) Select, Filter menu> Stylize> Wind. and make adjustments as you like and choose a wind direction and click, 'ok'.

3.)Yoa can increase the quantity of wind by clicking, CTRL + F.

4.) Now select, Image menu > Mode > Greyscale > and select 'Flatten' when a dialog box appear..

5.) Select, Image menu > Mode > Indexed color.

6.) Select, Image menu > Mode > color table.

7.) Under 'color table', select 'Black body' and click ok.

8.)You will notice the fire ffect around the text (the wind figure replaced with fire colors), but the text is White.

9.) So, select  Paint bucket and fill the white colored text with black color.

The black colored text blends with black background and only the fire effect is visible.
