Reverse Engineering is a branch of every engineering branch in which we have to reverse the process. i.e. the inverse of the actual kown process is done. And when we talk about reverse Engineering in Computer Science and Application it means to decode to code from Application. IT's always helpful in windows environment but for Linux and Unix it's not useful as we already have source code.

Food Engineering is a multidisciplinary program, combining basic sciences (bio, chem & phys), microbiology, and engineering education with respect to processing & preservation of foods & drinks. it involves activities like food processing & manufacturing, packaging technology, product formulation & standardization, instrumentation & control, ingredient manufacturing, designing & building plants, transportation of highly perishable commodities, etc.

Genetic engineering is actually manipulating organism's genes directly to bring up new desirable changes or to prevent or stop production of unnecessary proteins that are harmful , apart from conventional breeding programmes (which is the indirect way of producing new or desirable characters).genetic engineering uses advanced techniques in molecular biology to bring up desirable results. modern techniques include cloning, transformation and various techniques to proove and study the changes made.

software engineering is a discipline of computer science which deals with the development of every software.
the scope of software engineering starts right since the need of developing a software/application is felt. it focuses on all the aspects related to development of software. for ex,
1) what is the need of this software
2) time required to develop the software
3) resources required
4) the risks involved
5) what approach to follow (in developing the software)
6) testing the application in extreme conditions
7) quality assurance(i.e. it serves the task it was meant for)
8) maintenance of the application in future. (i.e. its up gradation, bug fixing etc)

Though all this may look a bit simple, but actually it is not. because in real world, at every stage of software development we encounter different problems because of different constraints of time, money, resources, expertise, technology etc. and the aim ofsoftware engineering is to foresee these problems which may arise at different stages, and solve them, to make sure that the idea turns into reality.

Biomedical Engineering is a link between the medical field and electronics engineering including other major divisions of engineering. It is oneof the growing fields. As people are becoming more conscious about their health and doctors going deeper into research, the demand for better biomedical instruments is increasing rapidly. The instruments are designed to give maximum utility to the doctor and comfort to the patients.

Employment Problem:

on a serious note, engineering is about realizing an often overlooked fact that life is not always a bed of roses. It is about enduring incomprehensible lectures from socially rejected "professors" whose English is as good as my dog timmy's.

It is about learning to live with super shy ladies which acts as a confirmation of your suppressed, unexpressed doubts that you may not really get to have a socially adept woman as your wife after all, thus mentally preparing you for the rest of your life.

It's about four years(or five or six, depends) of learning subjects like Electronic devices and circuits,Solid state physics, Electromagnetic transmission lines,C++, Java, advanced Java etc but not being able to tell why the sky is blue.

It's also about not being able to do anything decent in life and venting out the frustration by someone creating this community, me responding to some guy like this and finally, you reading it!!

I totally agree. people have made higher education a business and AICTE should have some minimum standards before it gives affiliation to any educational institutes.

I remember when I was graduating from high schools a lot of my friends in their frenzy to get an engineering degree would go to states where such colleges were a dozen a dime and they had told me of so called colleges which were all of 5 rooms.

This kind of colleges should not be given affiliation by AICTE and the MHRD should also keep a tab on new colleges to make sure that they meet some minimum standards. it is only then that anyone who has some money will not start a college without any kind of facilities and mint money from students.

I know that this means that a lot less people will get engineering degrees to begin with but in the long term this will be a good thing for two reasons:

1. newer colleges will have some minimum level of facilities.
2. People will not blindly run after engineering degrees. It is obvious that someone who is not able to make it to a half decent college even is probably not suited for engineering and maybe if there were not so many colleges people would take on courses they are more aptly suited for and do better in life.

I have been in the industry for last  4 years and I have seen some engineering graduates who make me wonder what kind of education did they receive when I met them for jobs. You will not believe the level of crap that I have seen some times.

people who are unable to write a simple recursive Fibonacci generator in C. It's just too easy to pass engineering in India.Any ways Today there is boom of engineers and everyone wants to do engineering.

In punjab if we talk abt medical field then 40 % of the students are decreased from last 2 years who gave the test of medical enterance and these 40% added to engineers.I don't know what would be the result after 5 years. But the reason is that our education system is not dynamic.we need to adapt the system to the demandin changes for to employ these graduates we need to teach them what  is required and not what was required.

There was always demand for engineering but this thread is about what quality B-grade institutes are producing.Thats really bad to hear.but most of the times guys there must be learning as their fellows are also having high standards after all its not that easy to get admission in IIT. Asmy coach sedto say if we hang around with champions and fight champions, we too will become achamp one day because while we hang around, we learn.

but one good thing about engineering is Engineers can xpect a better dowry.
