Quick Low Calorie Caramel Bread Pudding in 15 minutes

Friends, this dessert is a blessing for people with an inborn sweet tooth! Ready in 15 minutes and using the most healthy and easliy available ingredients and without any addition of buuter or oil ( being fat-free), there is no scope for the guilt of "Binging" on it or worrying about the number of calories you have consumed. the use of Skimmed Milk, Honey and Egg make it so healthy and tasty, that the Pudding can be consumed on a regular basis. Further it can also be made as a Vegetarian or as a Non-Vegetarian dish, according to the need. It is also a great options for kids who are very choosy about the food they eat and their tastes.

 

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Egg (for Non-Vegetarians) or 2 teaspoons Maida/Corn Flour (for Vegetarians)
  • 1 medium cup Fat free or Skimmed Milk
  • 1 slice of Brown Bread

 

Method:

First, soak the Bread slice in Milk and add 3 tablespoons of Honey. Mix it thoroughly in a Mixer. Add to it, the Egg or Corn Flour or Maida and Vanilla Essence and again mix it well. Mixing it twice will ensure that the sugar gets dissolved properly and avoid the formation of chunks while cooking.

In a flat bottomed steel mould, take the Sugar and mix 1 teaspoon of water in it and heat it. When the sugar turns golden-brown, spread it in the vessel properly and put the vessel aside to cool for 2 minutes.

Pour the mixture which we had prepared earlier, in this caramelized mould and cook it in a pressure cooker for 8-10 minutes.After it sets, refrigerate it and serve with its caramelized side up.

 

Serving Suggestions:

The dessert can be served cubed with Dry Fruits or Fresh Seasonal Fruits or Muesli or Honey which make it even more appealing to the eye!
