Select good food for our best body.

For maintaining proper health and physical efficiency, our food should contain sufficient amounts of all nutrients. As no single food can supply the required nutrients for our body in adequate, it is, to select our food very wisely.

We need food to grow. It provides us energy for work and play. In order to keep us healthy, we should always eat fresh and clean food. Every day we should take some food which helps us to grow, gives us energy and keeps us tidy and fit.

During breakfast, we should take a glass of milk, two slices with one egg and banana or an apple.

During lunch, we should take two-three chapattis, a plate of rice, and two bowls full of pulses and green vegetables, a cube of butter, curd and a plate of salad.

During tea-time, we can have an apple or banana, a piece of cake and a cup of tea or coffee.

At dinner time, we should take two or three puris or paranthas (made by wheat powder), a plate of chicken – curry, a small quantity of fried vegetables, curd and a plate of salad. Better course would be to follow it with a bowl of sweet dish like fruit cream or pudding etc.

 

Take care

We should be careful about the freshness and cleanliness of our food. We should remember that stale and infected food tastes strange and is injurious to health. In order to find out that our food is not spoiled, we should look at it, smell it and taste it in a small quantity before it is eaten.

Apart from this, we should never buy food from vendors. Such food is mostly harbored by flies and may cause a great deal of harm to us. We should never eat under –ripe or over-ripe fruits. Sometimes, metals such as lead, tin or brass, get into our food and make it poisonous. Similarly, food spoiled by bacteria is not good for health and should never be eaten. It can even kill a person.
