INTRODUCTION Sona Moong Dal with peas is one of the most famous Bengali Traditional dish, cooked and prepared by Indians and Bangladeshes. Moong dal is rich in protein. Sona Moong Dal is good for health and physical fitness. It is better to have sona moong dal daily in lunch. The taste of sona moong dal increases if you sauty it without oil till it becomes brown in colour. It is healthy for all age group people. Sona Moong Dal is prepared in different ways. However one of the most healthy and advantages way is to cook it with vegetables like peas and potatoes. INGREDIENTS : - 1. Sona Moong Dal - 1 bowl 2. Peas - 1/4 bowl 3. Potatoes - 1 big potato finely chopped 4. Onion - 2 onions finely chopped 5. Salt - according to taste 6. Red Chilli Powder - 1 teaspoon 7. Turmeric Powder - 1 teaspoon 8. Paanch phodan - 1/2 teaspoon 9. Refined oil - 2 table spoon 10. Tej Patta - 1 big 11. Dry Red Chilli - 1 big 12. Green Chilli - 2 big 13. Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 table spoon 14. Tomatoes - 1 big tomatoes finely chopped 15. Cumin Powder - 1 teaspoon  16. Hing - 1 teaspoon PROCEDURE : - Sauty sona moong dal for 10 minutes till it becomes light brown in colour. Keep it aside. Heat oil and add panch phodan, tej patta and dry red chilli, green chilli and hing in hot oil and start stiring it. Now add onion and ginger garlic paste and make it a mixture. When onions are half fried, add potatoes and peas. Stir it for 10 minutes. Add tomatoes and keep stiring it. Now start adding salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and cumin powder. Add moong dal in this mixture . Add water and keep cooking for 15 minutes.   PREPARATION TIME : - In totality this would take 1 hour to cook sona moong dal with peas.   TIPS : - 1. You can cook this dish in all occasions. 2. Good for children as it is rich in protein. It increases hemoglobin in blood.    Try it once at home.
