Writing has a healing power and this has been proved by the researchers. Writing may produce  changes in the immune or hormonal response for the stress, improves relationship and our capability to cope up with stress.Writing a self diary or writing about a traunatic experience in life can ease out the pain and stress of that experience and this has been tested by the researchers.

The researchers with American Women's Health Initiative have found out that food diaries help us to create awareness about calorie consumption and fat intake.The people are able to plan their diet in much nutritive manner, thus eating healthy and reducing kilos within no time and when you know, how much you are eating, it's easier to make changes.Writing about one self or a habit to  have a diary can also improve our sleep as the intensity of stress decreases gradually as we share our thoughts with our diary.

In 2002 studies at the Israel's Ben gurion University have proved that the people who worte about a stressful event made fewer visits to the health clinics over the next 15 months.When the cancer patients with no family support wrote about their illness for 15-20 minutes a day, they reported less stress for up to six months.

Thus writing helps us in reducing our stress, fighting back the illness, helps in reducing weight and also giving good sleep.
