Things to do before rainy season
The time has come for the rain to meet us. To avoid problems with the rain water in home and outside we need to take some care by following few tips.
If there are pits anywhere around your house, you have to fill them before rainy season starts because water may enter into those pits and insects will enter into the water and those insects may cause diseases for us. Especially mosquitoes, they cause a lot of health diseases like malaria, filaria, dengue, Gunia etc. By making the drainage people to clean the drainage channels so that nothing should stop the rainwater to flow or else when rain falls then water get stagnates and we get bad smells.
Some people keep as it is when any current wires were got cut by any big vehicle in your street or by any bird then people leave those wires which is very dangerous in rainy season. Because in rainy season the roads will be full of water and if these wires fall in water and power passes, it will be very dangerous to the people. So when there is no rain then only we have check all the wires around our house and make wiring properly so that no wire is extra hanging and we have to check each and every switch board & point in the house, if any problem we have to get an electrician, then solve the problem.
The roof of our houses and walls may have small holes & slight breaks; we should observe them before rainy season and repair them because there may be a chance of water entering into the house. The plants which have any plant disease then we have to cut those strings as rainfalls then this disease may spread to other plants in your garden.
People throw unnecessary things like boxes, bottles, etc on to terrace. But those things should be removed before the rainy season starts. If rain falls and water may get stored in those things and then mosquitoes will live in the water. This causes diseases to us.
We have to spray the insect pesticides in garden so that no insect could enter and stay. This should be spray before rainy season only. When rainy season starts we cannot spray any pesticides in the garden and if we spray also there will be no use.
The Iron shelves may get rust in rainy season, so it is better to paint them before rainy season. If you want to place any utensils in this shelf then you have to pack those utensils in a polythene cover so that they won’t get spoiled or rusted.
We have to take out the books from the book shelves and settle them properly by placing neem leaves in between the books. Neem leaves will avoid insects. The shelves where we keep our clothes, we have to place camphor and Naphthalene balls in the shelves. So that the smell due to moisture won’t come.
