How many people of our country are represented by the parliament:-

1. There are 545 seats in the house of the people

2. There are 650 million voters in the country.

3. As per the data of last elections, 58% of voting was done.

4. An average of 10 candidates contest for one seat.

5. The recent government was formed by 320 MP’s initially.

6. If 100 voters gave their votes, then the winning candidate usually(because I will justify it later) gets 35 % votes, 1st runner up gets 30 % votes, 2nd runner up gets 20% and so on. Here I want to mention that there are 10-15 seats in this country where the winner gets even above 90 % votes. I also want to mention that there are 25-30 seats where up to 30 or 35 candidates take part in election, and the distribution of votes is very scattered, like 5 % to winner, 4.8 % to 1st runner up, e

7. From this information, we come to know that actually 58 % of 65 cr people voted.

8. We note that if 545 people were elected then they do not represent 58 % of total voters. This is because the winning candidates were not the only ones which were given the votes. The other losing candidates also got votes, and which was actually a major share of 58%.

9. Now from here on, let us take three directions to calculate.

a. First direction tells us that no bogus votes were executed, voters do not include the workers of party, EVM machines are not stolen, no biased counting is done, and the largest single party which is in the government does not dominate the government. Then:-

1. From our previous knowledge, the winner got 35 % of the total votes which fell, which were actually 58%. Hence 35 % of 58 % gives us 20.3 % of total voters.

2. Hence like this, the 545 MPs got actually 20.3 % of total voters

3. Now, the government was formed from only 320 MPs, which is 59 % of 545. Hence, only 59 % of 20.3 % voters rule our country, which is actually 12 % of total voters.

4. So ideally, 12 % of 65 cr voters, i.e., 7.8 crore voters are represented by our government. Whereas the total population of our country at that time exceeded 100 crore.
