The tallest...at present.. whose record will be broken
The development of technology is at a rapid rate and it is also implemented everywhere, irrespective of their fields. As a part of this technological development in this world, here in this article let us see something regarding the development of technology with respect to heights.... Ya, in this article let us discuss about the world's tallest building constructed. Till date the world's tallest building constructed is in Taiwan. But I guess most of us thought, including me, the buildings of the Arab countries are the tallest one. But this doesn't mean we are wrong, because we need to wait for some more years for Mile High Tower, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to be constructed at a height of about 5250 feet. Well,in this article let us discuss about the present tallest building in the world in Taipei, Taiwan which is 1667 feet high and it is regarded as the World's Tallest building from 2004.This building is called as Taipei 101 because it has a total of 101 stories.
Why…this building?:
Well, practically speaking today most of the unbelievable buildings, that are created in this world are just made for record purpose. We can also mention the above reason for this building also, but their initial plan was different. The idea was started way back in 1997 and during that time the mayor of the Taipei city was Chen Shui-bian.In many countries the post of the Mayor of a city is very powerful, unfortunately this is not the case in our country, and every decision for the benefit of the city will be discussed with the help of the Mayor of that particular city. So in 1977 the Government officials and the Businessmen of the city had a meeting and their theme was to build a separate building for financial purpose. So as per their idea they proposed a idea of a 66 floor building for this purpose but they believed that this is a very important building and this should also symbolizes Taiwan. On 2004( December 31), they celebrated the opening ceremony of the building with fireworks.
About its status:
At present this building is owned by Taipei Financial Center Corporation under the management of managed by the International division of Urban Retail Properties Corporation which is based in Chicago

This Taipei 101 is located at the Xinyi District, which is one of the important district of Taipei city in Taiwan.
Who constructed this building?
The credit must go to "C.Y. Lee and Partner" who are the architects for this building, with their contractors being KTRT and Samsung Engineering and construction. Apart from this Thornton Tomasetti was behind the success of this building, because he is structural engineer behind this Taiwan's dream project.
Can it withstand Natural Calamities:
Whenever we consider two important disasters that basically disturb the life of people and more importantly the destruction of buildings are earthquakes and cyclones. So the engineers took care that the building withstands typhoons and earthquakes. A tuned mass damper system on level 88 was incorporated which transfers the energy from the building to the swinging sphere and as result of this a stabilizing force is provided and it can withstand these natural calamities.

#) This is approved as the tallest building in the world surpassing the PETRONAS Twin Tower of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
#) The height of this building is 508 meters, which is around 1667 meters
#) Around 2000 vehicles can be parked in this building which was build with a parking facilities of 83 thousand square meter.
#) This building has a office space of around 2 lakhs square meter and
#) Apart from the 101 floor present, there are 5 ground floors present in this building.
#) The reason why they have build 101 stories is that it symbolizes the beginning of the new century ( 100 + 1, where 1 is the starting of next hundred and in this case it symbolizes new century)
#) This building is said to have followed the Chinese traditions .When we see this building we can clearly see eight delineated exterior sections of the building and the number 8 according to their tradition represents success.
#) The building uses two high speed elevators which travel at a speed of 1,010 meters/minute.
So this is a must watch building whenever we visit to this city.But its record is going to be broken by Burj Dubai(800m), and still Burj Dubai will be succeeded by Mile High tower.
