Confidence is faith in oneself. Confidence enables a person to do things well. When you confidence, then it makes things happen the way you want them to happen.

Confidence is great quality. It makes a person to move forward.

Here are a few incidents that will help you remember the value of confidence.

Akbar and Rana Pratap story

Mughal emperor Akbar wanted Maharana Pratap to submit himself to the Mughal Empire. But Rana Pratap was too, self –respecting to make submission to Akbar. Being a true and brave Rajput, he loved honor more than anything else.

Akbar sent a huge army against Rana Pratap. A fierce battle was fought between the armies of Akbar and Rana Pratap at Haldighat. The Rajputs fought bravely but Akbar’s army was too large to be defeated. Thinking that defeated was certain and that Pratap’s life was very essential for the future of Mewar, some Rajput warriors forced Pratap t leave the battle –field and save his life.

Rana Pratap spent many years in the forests. He and his family members used to sleep on the ground and sometimes even ate chapattis made of grass.

But he did not give up. He never lost his heart.

One day Bhamashah, a rich man of Mewar, approached Rana Pratap and said, ``You Majesty! My ancestors had served at the court of Mewar for a long time. They had accumulated a huge amount of money. This money belongs to Mewar. Please accept it and raise an army’’.

Rana Pratap was confidence of his victory. He embraced Bhamashah and praised him greatly. He raised a big army and succeeded in winning back from Mughal a large part of Mewar.

See! Confidence enable Rana Pratap t win large parts of Mewar. In fact confidence stimulates a person to do wonders.

 

Ekalavya story

Ekalavya was a Bhil boy. He was very eager to learn archery. In those days, Guru Drona was teaching archery to the Kauravas and Pandavas.

Ekalavya came to guru Drona. He requested him to teach him archery. But Ekalavya was not a prince. So Guru Drona refused to take him as his pupil.

Ekalavya was not disappointed. He was confident of becoming an expert archer. He went to a forest and made a mud statue of Guru Drona. He worshipped it every day and then practiced archery. Soon he became a great archer.

One day Guru Drona was walking through the forest with the princes. They had a dog with them. The dog wandered about and came to Ekalavya’s hut. It started barking.

The barking disturbed Ekalavya. So he shot seven arrows to it.

The dog went back to guru Drona. The seven arrows were in the same position in its mouth. Guru Drona was surprised.

He then went along with the princes in search of the archer. They came to Ekalavya’s hut. Guru Drona was surprised to see his statue there. He asked, ``who are you?’’

``I am Bhil boy and my name is Ekalavya’’ he told.

``Who taught you archery?’’ asked Drona.

``You, yourself, my respected Guruji’’, he replied.

`` If I am you Guru, you must pay me fee’’, said Drona.

``Tell me what you want. I will give you’’ he said.

Drona asked his right thumb.

At once Ekalavya cut off his right hand thumb and offered it t0o Guru.

``you are the great’’ he blessed him.

Ekalavya became a great archer because he had confidence in him. Self – confidence along with determination and courage leads to success.
