About Concentration
Concentration is a great power
Here I am writing about benefits of concentration.
Swami Vivekananda had gone to western country for the second and last time. One day while he was walking in a river side in America, he saw some young people were trying to shoot something which was floating on the river. They failed and were trying again and again .Seeing this Swami was laughing and one of those boys was suddenly followed this .They threw a challenge to Swamiji and said that it was not so easy.
Swamiji accepted the challenge and said to them,”let me try and I will do my best.”
Surprising factor was that Swamiji shot twelve times and each time he was successful. The young boys surprised and thought that he might be a gun expert. But Swamiji said that he never touched any gun before that. He also said that he was successful due to his concentration and close attention.
Presently among young’s there is lack of this concentration. There are many things in our mind now a day, but if we concentrate our mind in one thing, we will be successful in every goals of our life. Doing something attentively, it takes less time with less effort and thus the depreciation of mind and power will be less.
Swamiji said,” To me the main essence of education is not the collection of many events but concentration and great attention “.
We should follow the speeches and the qualities of Swamiji in his 150th birth anniversary not only doing some programs.
But how will we do it? Concentration is possible only then, when we will live with honesty in physically, mentally and socially. Swamiji said,”So long as I am pure and His Servant, not a hair of my head will be touched”. Those who want to make the life strong, he should have these qualities like honesty, virtuous act, braveness, self sufficiency, self confidence, freeness, perseverance, great patience and concentration. Character is our main wealth rather than money or reputation.
Swamiji loved young. He also advised to those to use the three “H” with great care i.e. Head, Heart and hand. He also wanted a relinquishing team of young’s to serve our mother land, to serve the poor and to make our country strong and self sufficient.
We should follow his ideal, his qualities and thus we will be able to make a great INDIA.
