Respect and consideration for feelings of others makes one courteous. If you ill respect others you will get it back. More cover it keeps every one happy and beautiful. Never feel ashamed of saying sorry if you have done something wrong.

Veena’s teacher had told her to collect the notebooks in the class and bring them to the staffroom. Veena collected the homework notebooks and dashed into staffroom without asking the teacher sitting there. The teacher said, ``Veena you have no manners, you have entered the staffroom without asking.’’ Veena felt that she had been told by another teacher to place the notebooks in the staffroom so where were the need for asking while entering.

Veena was an intelligent student but was a bit arrogant. Without saying ``sorry’’ she came out of the staffroom. The whole day she remained very angry about the remark of being ill mannered. In the evening, she complained to her father about the incident.

This is what Veena’s father id- a practical lesson

Veena’s father told her father that just saying a casual thank you and sorry does mean that one is well –mannered. Good manners and courtesy means much more than that. The words and actions should come from one’s heart. He asked her to come with her. Before leaving he told Veena’s mother where he was going and whether she wanted something from the market. While coming out of the hose Veena’s father softly closed the door behind him. Then both of them went to the reservation office. Veena’s father was to collect his ticket that had reserved. He stopped in front of the door of the office and asked if he could come inside. Before entering the office he wiped his feet on the foot mat. Then the politely told the clerk, ``Can I have my ticket please?’’ the clerk smiled and promptly gave him the ticket. After taking the ticket Veena’s father thanked the clerk and then they went to the market. There was a lot of rush there. Her father waited for is return to collect vegetables. When an old man came, he made place for him to pick p the vegetables first. After taking vegetables they came to the bus stop. They took their place in the queue. In the bus they got a seat but when an old woman came her father gave her the seat. After reaching home his father talked nicely to her mother. Then they sat own to eat dinner.
