The joys of parenthood
and when my tears dropped
and fall to the bottom of dismay
on stormy nights
where the sky's canvas was
painted with turmoil,
and prophecied of merciless nightmares
to come, I was
shrouded, the rain of loneliness
beat me heavenly
But he and she came
and I saw daybreak smiling
at my bed side,
He...held me softly,
then my soul was lulled
and slept in the hammock
of heavenly peace
and horror was defeated
I found bravery in her eyes,
and a champion warmth,
clothed me with the justification
of love
she smiled, so did I,
she kissed my head,
and I became a victor,
the nightmares were slain,
since they came
and I hibernated,
definitely slept in the
cloud mattress of parenthood.
