Srilanka vs Newzealand 1st test  started on 18th of this month .Newzealand won the toss and elected field first.  Newzealand got two early wickets of srilanka:Sangakkara and Paranavitana.Dilshan and jayawardene played consistently to settle the innngings and got the half centuries first.  But dilshan was bowled by O'brien at 92 and jayawardene scored  114 runs.samaraweera  got his  159 building partnerships with the middle order and tail enders .The srilankan innings was closed at 452. Martin and vettori got four wickets each

McIntosh and Guptill started the newzealand innings and got a opening partnership of 45 runs .Guptill was bowled by thushara .The next batsman coming and scoring 20-30 runs and got out . Ryder and vettori struggled  to settle the newzealand innings . The newzealand innings was closed at 299. Thushara and murali got four wickets each.

srilankan seecond innings was started by the same batsmen as in the first innings and got quick runs    , declaring at 259 runs giving a lead   of 452 runs which was very difficult to chase in the second innings Dilshan got not out century of 123 runs

Newzealand second innings was very poor and giving  wickets regularly. Only  vettori who got 67  in the 2nd  was played consistenty through out the match. newzealand innings was closed at 210

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MATCH: MURALITHARAN the veteran off spinner of the srilankan team achieved a rare feat in the ongoing test match.... he became the only bowler to have scalped 100+wicets at three venues when he took the fourth wicket in the newzealand's first innings......This was his 100th dismissal at GALLE.

RESULT: SRILANKA WON BY 202 RUNS
