Indian team becomes no 1 in test cricket
The Indian test team on sunday (06.12.2009) becomes no 1 in test cricket after defeating the Sri Lankans by an innings and 24 runs. They also won the 3 match series 2-0 . This is the first time that the Indian team acheived this milestone. They overtake Proteas and became the no 1 team after this emphatic win. Before this match South Africans were at the top of the table followed by the Lankan team. India was in the 3 rd position followed by the Australians . After this win India became no 1 followed by the Proteas. Due to two successive losses Lankans claimed the fourth spot after the Australian team. Credit has to be given to Indian Cricket Team Coach GARY KIRSTEN for his wonderful committment and presence in the team for the past 18 months. Of course M S DHONI has lead the attack very well and become stronger as he progressed with the capitancy. During the post match presentation , he said that we have acheived this but the real task for us is to maintain it. Indian team is just two points ahead of the Proteas . The Indian Team will bridge the gap between Proteas when they take on the Bangladeshi team earlier next year. Let us wish M S DHONI 's boys to continue their excellent form and retain the glory of being NO 1 TEAM.
