A. The blotting –paper as answer to a problem

A gentleman was ill. He took a medicine which was black in co lour. One day his servant gave him some ink by mistake. When he found out what he had done, he ran to his master and said, “I beg your pardon, sir, but I have given you ink instead of medicine.” “Oh, that doesn’t matter’ the ink.”

 

B. The moon is worth two suns

One day two Irishmen were talking about the sun and the moon and arguing as to which of the two was the more unself. After long arguments one of them said, “Oh I known. The moon is worth two suns, because it shines at night when it is needed: but the shi Shines in the daytime, when nobody was it”.

 

C.A Lesson in faith

Foolish young fellow once astonished an old clergyman by boasting. ”I don’t believe in anything I can’t see and understanding,” he said. “Do you believe there is such a country as France /” Enquired the clergy- man. “Yes,” he said, “because, though I have never seen it, I know people who have.” “Than you refuse to believe in anything that you or others haven’t seen? “”Most certainly,” said the youth. “Did you ever see your own brains?” “Of course, it is not.” “Do you know anybody who has seen them?” “No.” “Do you think you have got any?”The young man knew that he was defeated and he hung his head in shame.

 

D. Of two evils chooses the lesser

A gentleman in one of Western states of America had two Sons. He was very fond of them; but he showed his love by letting the boys go their own way and giving them whatever they wanted. The result was that they were completely spoiled. Once there was the danger of earth-quake near their town, and in fear the father sent off his boys to a friend in New Yo4rk. This friend was willing to do much for the alarmed parent, so he tolerated his guests for several days. But the bodies gave him a lot of trouble. In disgust he sent this telegram to his friend;

“For goodness” sake sends us the earthquake and sbacks the boys.”

 

A magician

Pranab chunder Sorcar wants it be a magician. When he was young, his father had bought him a magic set there were special cups and a rope in the magic set which enabled Pranab to perform simple tricks .After much practice, Pranab was able to make coins disappear and appear again. He could also cut a rope into one two pieces and use a magic trick to join them into one piece again. Pranab lives going to magic shows and see magicians do different kinds of magic tricks; Some of the tricks he has seen are more difficult because they can make a person float in the air or disappear .some the magicians he has seen even able to make buildings, statues and vehicles disappear and make them re-appear again anywhere they like. Such magic tricks fascinate Pranab he is amazed when magicians make rabbits flowers appear out of nowhere. He is when more thrilled more when magicians with their wrist and ankles bound escape from large contains or thanks. Such tricks always keep Pranab at the edge of his seat. The most memorable trick he saw was when a famous magician tied his arms and legs and looked himself in a tank filled with water. He had to hold his breath and until himself in less than three minutes. Pranab heaved a sigh of relive when the magician finally emerged from the tank

Pranab sometimes performs a few tricks for his and friends and he loves to hear them applaud when he successfully perfumes a tricks. He would like learn more magic froe a skilled magician and perform on stage one day.
