During the year weather changes, some months are not while others are cold.

Some are wet and others dry.

Nature looks after the animals when the weather changes.

So some animals lose or grow hair. Others move to a better place when the weather changes.

Human beings need to wear clothes to be safe from the cold, heat or rain.

Nature has given fur to an animal like the fox, wool to the sheep and hair to the bear and dog.

Animals like the crocodile, the rhinoceros, and the tortoise have very hard skins or shells.

The whale, the seal and the hippopotamus, have a thick layer of fat for protection.

Birds have feathers. Fish and snakes have scales.

Human beings do not have any such natural covering.

We have to wear clothes to save ourselves from too much heat or cold.

When it is cold we wear clothes made from wool and other kind of thick cloth. This keeps us warm.

When it is hot we wear clothes made from cotton to keep us cool.

Early men and women wore only skins of the animals which they killed for food.

As time passed human beings saw that clothes could protect them from cold rain and even heat.

They also began dressing in different ways to look better.

Soon many types of things were used for making clothes. Today have many new kinds of clothing.

Cotton is got from the cotton plant.

Wool is got from animals like sheep.

The cotton and the wool is cleaned and spun to make cotton thread and wool thread.

Silk is also used to make clothes.

The silkworm covers itself in a shell made from threads of silk. From this we get silk.

We even use fur to make clothes.

Fur from the fox, mink and rabbit is often used.

Shoes, belts and bags are some items made from leather. Leather is made from the shin of animals.

Cloth is also made from materials like rayon, nylon, plastic. These are called synthetics.

A tailor cuts and stitches our clothes.

A washer man washes our clothes. Nowadays there are using washing mission.

We wear formal clothes to school, office and important places.

What we usually wear at home for everyday use are casual clothes.

People wear different clothes in different places. What you wear depends on the warmth or cold of the place.
