Some of the important and useful facts of environment are as follows:-
1. The interaction of organisms with biotic and abiotic factors form an ecosystem. Even little changes in any one factor in an ecosystem can influence the species of environment.
2. Ecology is the science that studies the interrelationship between plants and animals to their physical and biological environment.
3. Territorialism is the boundary which certain animals defend it against other animals as it is used for food and housing. This feature helps more animals in their safeguard of their generations.
4. Antartica that holds 90% ice of the world was first sighted in the nineteenth century but neglected because of lack of local people, animals and other resources. Seven countries- Argentina, Australia, Britain, Chile, France, New Zealand and Norway claim their territory in Antartica. Other nations, including the United States and Russia, do not acknowledge these claims and also make no claims of their own. However they reserve their rights to claim the territory in future. Since 1961 the continent has been administered under the Antartic Treaty, which is an international agreement to preserve the continent for peaceful scientific study.
