Chocolate Cake

 

Ingredients for Base :

250 gms Maida

2 tsp soda bi carbonate

2 tsp baking powder

100 gms butter

2 cups Luke warm water

1 tin milkmaid

1 tsp vanilla essence

3 tsp cocoa powder

 

Ingredients for icing :

400 gms icing sugar

150 gms margarine

2 to 3 spoon cocoa powder

1/2 tsp vanilla essence

2 tsp milk

 

Method for base :

Sieve  the maida , baking powder ,soda and cocoa.

Melt butter and add all the above base ingredients.

Beat it  till it becomes fluffy.

Grease a baking dish with butter and dust it with maida , pour the mixture

and bake in the oven at 180 degree centigrade for about 30 minutes.

cool before decorating. The base is ready.

 

Method for icing :

Mix all the ingredients of icing  and make a dough like that of chappati.

Knead the dough taking little milk and make it light and fluffy.

Now the icing is ready.

Finally decorate the cake with ready icing .

Cover the whole cake with it .

Arrange flowers of various colour on top of it.

 

Preparation time : 50 minutes to 1 hour.

 

Tips:

Instead of margarine one can use whipping cream available in the market.
