Depression is nothing but the mental state of a person where he is in a very low mood. Depression is not a disease. It is just a disorder. Many people are used to confuse between the terms disease and disorder. Disease is abnormality in the normal functions of a human being whereas disorder is the functional abnormality. Generally the term disorder is used to denote problems related to the mental abnormalities of an individual. There are many types of depressions based on the causal behind the disorder but the term generally denotes clinical depression. Depression is usually referred to as mood disorder as it highly depends on the mood of a person.

Depression has a number of symptoms associated with it. It is always wise to find it in the early stages and have some therapeutic treatments. The difference between a person who is sad and depressed is very thin. So people need to understand this difference so that they can take steps early. By means of analyzing the symptoms, we can easily find the difference between the causing agents.

  • Lack of interest toward the things which you would usually show some amount of interest.
  • Will not be able to enjoy things even if you wish to do so.
  • People will either eat too much or they will not eat. Their diet will not be the same which they used to follow
  • Insomnia or hypersomnia is usually the case as far as their sleep is concerned.
  • They will usually have a long face which reflects their mental fatigue.
  • They will not be able to focus on anything continuously.
  • People will  always have a hollow feeling within them and guilty conscience is generally associated with them
  • There are emotionally unstable and even their close relationships will not be able to predict their behavioral changes.

Come Out of Depression

If you feel that you are associated with few symptoms mentioned above, then it is the right time to consult a therapist specialized in this field. It is always not good for health to use antidepressants. Instead one can make use of yoga, meditation and other such mental exercises which does not have any side effects unlike antidepressants. Depression is mainly caused because of emotional conflicts. Keeping one’s mind healthy will give no room for depression so that one can lead a peaceful life.
