Weather and seasons in India
The sun clouds, the wind, the rain snow fall some of the factors that affect weather. Winds that blow great force along with rain or snowfall are called storms.
The movement of air is called wind.
Weather of places keeps on changing
The climate does not change as quickly as the weather does.
A gentle wind is called a breeze.
Hot winds called `loos’ blow in summer.
Very cold winds blow in winter.
Water from oceans, rivers and lakes evaporates due to the sun’s heat.
The process of evaporation converts the seawater in to fresh water in the from of water vapor.
The water vapor rises up to from clouds.
The continuous process of evaporation, condensation and rainfall is called water cycle.
An instrument called rain gauge is issued to measure rainfall at a place.
When the climate remains the same for a period of time, we call the period a season.
The spring season is a very pleasant season.
Weather of a place keeps on changing. Sometimes it changes everyday. One day it maybe bright and sunny, the next day it may be cloudy, rainy, windy or even humid. Some times weather remains unchanged for many days. The general weather condition of an area is called the climate of the place. The climate does not change as quickly as the weather does.

When the climate remains the same for a period of time, we call this period a season.
We have four seasons in our country.
1) Summer season
2) Rainy season
3) Winter season
4) Spring season
Seasons cause changes in our habits of food, clothing and other activities.
In summer the days are longer, very warm and dry. We wear light –colored cotton clothes and prefer to remain indoors under a fan or in the shade of trees. We like to drink cold drinks and have ice-creams. Summer fruits like melon and watermelon are eaten, as refreshes us.
The summer season is followed by the rain season. The sky is covered with dark clouds. Y season is nice and cool. Rain is good for plants. But heavy rains cause floods and damaged to buildings and crops.
The winter season is followed by the rainy season. It is clod and dries during the winter. We like to stay indoors to protect ourselves from the cold.
The spring season is very pleasant season. Trees bear fresh green leaves and beautiful flowers. There is bright sunshine. It is the right season for picnics.
