With bright blue and green hues, you are the personification of royalty.

Your wonderful dance brings us rain

And your gorgeous feathers are harbingers of prosperity and gain.

You’ve the blueness of the oceans; you’ve the greenery of dense fields;

Your train stands distinct from all the rest.

Habituating the vast forests and bush lands,

You feed on everything-from seeds to ants.

You live in the bible; you live in the Greek myth;

And you are the National Bird of India, not to forget.
