I am crying. Can you help me please?
Why is my baby crying? Very often mothers can’t find the correct reason. As he can’t speak it’s not possible to know why he is crying continuously. Even after giving a lot of care and love, he doesn’t stop crying. If so, tears will fill in mother’s eye also very soon. It’s really a great task to communicate with a baby before he starts learning language. But if you closely watch the symptoms of cry, it’s possible to know why he is crying. Am hungry Mom
When a kid begins to cry, the first phrase uttered by a mother is “My kid is hungry”. It’s easy to recognize the cry, if he is hungry. If it’s time for feeding, you can assure it’s the reason. If he bites his nail or fingers, suck mother’s fingers or turn towards mother repeatedly, no need to search for other reasons. When mother starts feeding, he will surely stop crying.
My nappy is wet
Your kid is sleeping comfortably after drinking milk. If he starts to cry what could be the reason? Just check his nappy. Very often, kid will lift his legs if he feels discomfort with his nappy. Change his nappy and your kid will sleep comfortably.
I need sleep
It’s often noticed, certain kids cry a lot before sleep. They won’t sleep till they start crying. But all kids are not so. In certain cases, if sleep is disturbed someway the kid may cry. Avoid conversations, television, music etc while your kid is sleeping. If he is suffering from cold, he can’t sleep comfortably and will start crying. If so, give him medicine like nasal drops.
Too hot or too cold
Kids always love a pleasant climate and atmosphere. Their skin is too delicate to withstand excess cold and heat. Remove complete moisture from his body as soon as he urinates or soon after bathed. Use cotton towels only. Never use excess hot or cold water to bath him or should never use dettol or similar disinfectants or germ killers in water. Use baby lotion and baby soap only. During summer, use cotton clothes only. Use woolen clothes during winter.
I want your care
Have you ever noticed, if a group of people start talking in front of the baby ignoring him, he will start crying. It’s sure, it’s nothing but his response to get love and care from you people. As he can’t speak, he tells it through his cry. Sometimes, he may lift his hands and legs and cry at you without any reason. No need to worry. Just take him in your arms. He will stop crying. When a baby feels insecure, he exhibits such signs telling that he want more love and care from his mother.
Gas trouble
It’s really a worrying problem that causes stomach pain to your baby. Normally it happens very soon after drinking milk and is most happening in the first three or four months. It’s mother’s duty to put the kid on her shoulder soon after breast feeding and remove gas with simple patting till gas escapes completely from his stomach. Same procedure should be done even if you are feeding from a bottle. You should continue this process until he reaches six or seven months. Never lay him straight soon after feeding. Place him on your shoulder for a little time giving him enough care.
Am restless
Sometimes, kid will behave restless and cry non-stop and parents will not be able to find the real reason. Even a simple discomfort can make your kid cry. Sometimes, a hair tied in his little finger or eye lash fallen in his eye may be the reason.
My tooth is aching
Normally, first tooth comes between 5 and 7 months. In some cases, it gives pain to your kid. Just check his plague to know if a new tooth is coming out. If pain is severe, show a doctor.
Strangers – keep distance from me
If your kid is an infant, he won’t identify faces easily except mother. As he grows he begins to identify everyone and some kids never go in the hands of strangers. If so, he may start crying. If a lot of people crowd around him and try to take him one after another, he will surely dislike it. Kids are always afraid of such groups and loud noise.
My shirt, my taste
Some kids love to cover the whole body with clothes while some kids dislike it. Some kids may feel discomfort if you try to cover his feet. As he grows, he begins to understand colours and his accessories. He may cry if you choose a dress that he dislikes.
Am feeling bored
Kids always love new sights and plays. If they are left alone or if he feels no one is caring him, he will cry. So, always give him fresh toys, new words and new plays. Just take him to outdoor or nearby garden or park. Show him a few birds and colourful flowers. He will surely stop crying. Try to deviate his attention from it that gives him unpleasant feeling and he will surely stop crying.
I want that toy
Suppose he say an attractive toy in another kid’s hand or a colourful paper or mobile in his father’s hand. If he wants it, it’s sure he will cry till he gets it. If so, his eyes will be fixed on that object and he won’t stop crying till it reaches his hands.
I want to see a doctor
Above given points are common reasons causing him discomfort. Even then, if he is still crying consult a doctor as early as possible. Just check his body temperature and consult a doctor immediately.
