It was mentioned in the link article that The proceedings of the auction of the suit will be directed to "Save Gangaproject ."

It will bring close to 3 crore for the benefit of a very unique cause besides other 450 gifts being auctioned. There is no similar example, perhaps Mahatma Gandhi received Rs 2 crore for his specs earlier in a similar auction.

On the whole, the proceedings of the sales will be utilized for the welfare of the society. Quite heartening deed.

Let all big guns come forward and sell some of their belongings (let's forget the Swiss money for the time being)

That's the last thing they would do. Have you ever seen a thief coming forward and declare his property? In AP the opposition leader is still on bail. He won the elections. He is the opposition leader in AP assembly, though he was the prime suspect in 11big scandals.

Not thieves but the tax evaders are given opportunity to declare the evaded income/ tax and avoid penalty as well as interest by way of amnesty schemes. Your suggestion is good. I feel that such amnesty also be given to the thieves and other criminals.  This is in lighter vein. .

Yes. By all means all should be seen and treated equally by the law.
