Pakistan was built on basis of two nation theory that not only divides humanity on religion but also ultimately results in inhumanity and irrationalism.

Just SMS message to Immam of mosque may cause death penalty. Those who encourage any type of religious fundamentalism- may be Muslim or Christian or Hindu- need be cautious and alert. If funfamentalism- any religious variety- raises its head, there can be only disastrous consequences.

Fundamentalism of any kind means intolerance to the extent that every freedom of another belief is curbed. This also can happen with the majority community as we have seen here in our own country where in certain states where the ruling party has its governance the majority party are not allowed to complain against the atrocities committed by the minorities...This is also a form of fundamentalism which is also linked to vote bank, even more dangerous since it is double edged !

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

There should be subtle difference between love for religion blindly and fundamentalism.  still am not sure as so far I have not faced that situation, but situation which link suggests in Pak, is surely alarming, it is like living with a heart where four out of three vessels towards heart are blocked, it is surely painful.

Fundamentalism means that the modern law and fair play is not allowed but instead the law as in scripture is enforced. In Pakistan, the death sentence is on charge of blasphemy. We do not face any such threat in India in near future. However, we witness such fundamentalism in some villages in Haryana and Rajsathan. Here if any boy or girl marry in same Ghotra or other castes/ religion, they are even burnt alive. This is a result of practising orthodox traditions. This is despite there being secular constitution and government establised thereunder. We can well imagine what will happen if some day the forces of Hindutva get thumping majority in parliament and states. Then Manusmriti and the type of things that khap panchayats are doing will become routine.

By now if anyone has any sense I am sure they realise that people do not want any fundamentalism from any religion and what is instead required is personal freedom with regard to speech and life. If any politician is unable to provide this, he will be voted out and if a person or party wins after all the public awareness about their deeds and agenda, it shows that the public has faith in such a party and its leaders , so let us hope for the best !

actually when you go for a change, you do not realize what this may mean in long run. Once the fundamentalists get rooted, it is difficult to remove them.

It will be like corruption which has got rooted in these past years and people fight against it , similarly the public will fight against fundamentalism as well....This is something that will be there in our system since it is a multi layered multi religious society and people have all kinds of views !

Religious fundamentalism cannot be uprooted easily. It's deep rooted in the society since centuries. May be a case or two where one dares to go against the fundamentalists. But we need more.

Religous fundamentalism as such followed by people cannot be eradicated. Everyone has freedom to have any view. But the problem arises when the religious fundamentalism gain control of government or state machinery. The government controled by religious fundamentalists as in some parts of Pakistan is really very disgusting.

Basically India is a multi religious society and majority of the people want peace .Loving your own religion and promoting it is no sign of fundamentalism...It is only when religion gets linked to terrorism and autocracy that there is fear which I dont see happening here, although all political parties have used religion for their own gains when it suits them...

All politicians used religion to achieve their mean ends. I'd say these political parties Nationalised corruption in different hues and colors.
