We have a very disturbing news of an officer in the rank of Lt. General accused by an officer's wife of sexual harassment. The accused officer is an engineer and has been head of Border Roads organization. He is soon to retire. The chief of Army staff is inquiring into allegations made against him

so far we had complaints by serving employees. Now this is complaint by colleague's wife. Is it not disgusting that such senior officers cannot control outburst of their carnal passions.

Has he got any punishment to degrading his post??
On an average moral values are disappearing from our society .

Really a shameful news and a person of that carder should have some minimum commonsense before doing such things.
Kartik- Culture in armed forces especially among officers is a bit westernized. The officers enjoy drinks in officers mess and clubs. The famuilies also attend the functions on several occasions. So taking some liberty is not unusual. It is reported that although enquiry is going on, priima facie there is no strong case against the Lt General.

Such cases are demoralising the Indian army's soldiers and also preventing others from joining the army.

Jayen- Although such incidents are bad, these are rare. These in no way affect people joining army. Traditionally, people loved to join army out of sheer patriotism. There are also many communities like Rajputs and Jats, who join army according to tradition. Now people bother more about money. If you get job in multinationals and big companies on better salary, why join army where you risk life, have to work in very hard conditions and have no prospects to get very fast promotion and money in comparison to private sector.
