you will be pleased to know I visited Munnar in 2006 December, when it blossomed last (after 1994) .......just 1 month before our first anniversary

Last week I visited Ooty, am really desp.....it's now a city...... :( :(
Man has killed its natural beauty...nothing is special except the chillness.....
It can never match Munnar, as Munnar is still a village with hectres of tea plantations

let me add one more thing.....12 years can be termed as a 'Jupiter year'.
In Malayalam there is a super word for 12 years, Vyazhavattam means 12 years (time taken by Jupiter to revolve sun once) :)

when I asked in forum a few months back, no one was able to answer it. Then I searched a lot to find it

Awesome pics. These are very beautiful and nice
Those Violet flowers are Neela Kurinji? A feast to the eye
Wow what a beautiful place this is. But its really sad to see all natural places are being destroyed by us. I would definitely like to visit this place if get a chance in future. :)
Here's one such called Karvi flowers from Maharashtra, they last bloomed in 2008, and are scheduled to bloom again in 2016. Surprisingly, it blooms at different times in different regions, only in Bhimashankar, Malshej and in Mumbai, it bloomed at the same time.

Not yaar
This place has not lost its Beauty till now. I visited it second time, 2 years back to celebrate our 5th anniversary...everything is same....
the drive through tea plantations is really amazing.....and nature is blessed with its beauty till now,

But i became so sad when I visited ootty last week, everything destroyed by man.

let me add one important point about Munnar.
In 2006, just 3 months after our first visit, Achuthananthan the chief minister of kerala, demolished all buildings built in government land. also gave summons to TATA company to give back hectares of land owned by government.
he became a state hero in one day......now also, he has a huge fan all over Kerala (particularly youth) irrespective of all parties, to take steps against those 'killers of nature'.  . only person that I like in Communist party is Achuthananthan whom we fondly call 'Achumama'.
he is a nice person who opposes his own people inside his party. Though he is a headache to his party, he is loved by congress. that may be the reason why Communist party lost majority by just 2 seats last time, though he has done nothing significant in the past 5 years except the 'Munnar project'.
a wonderful clap for him, on behalf of all Munnar-lovers of kerala :cheer:
