what is the difference between peace and harmony?

Some want peace, some want harmony, but, what are its true meaning?

Peace is state of mind  which signifies that mind is at rest and there are no worries and tensions. Absence of bitterness between individuals and communities or other segments of society indicates that there is peace.


Harmony is necessary for peace but this is distinct.   Harmony indicates that different elements or segments or components are working in cooperation and as a team.  Good team work means harmony.

Peace can be the result of both happiness and sadness. However harmony means to be calm due to happiness, love and friendship.

Peace is singular in that one can be at peace with oneself but harmony is when there are others along with you....it is a state of unison or unity in thought !

Peace is one type of freedom from everything. When nothing is going to disturb then we get peace. Harmony comes only when a group of people search for peace.
