The only reason for this discrepancy is that the leaderboard is updated automatically based on the points one scores whereas the cash credits to any article have to be awarded manually after reviewing the article second time by the administrator!
Leader Board indicates at a glance ten top members position for the week. The active members definitely like this. There should be lesser time taken in articles approval but this is in no way related to Leader Board. It cannot be said that discontinuance of Leader Board will any way help speedy article approval.
well, I have no problem with article section as they are getting published on perfect time.. As we can make automated system for updating leader board , we can't do same for editing articles.. So it is obvious.
Leader Board also carries cash credit. Top 10 scorers get cash credit. If updates are not shown, nobody will be able to know its level on the board. Hence they may not get the credit due to less points.
But now a days articles are credited soon. This is compulsory to update leader board as to motivate people for more participation. Moreover its not done manually its automated so its not waste of time.
