About my Non-stick Pan

Last week, my mother bought a new non-stick pan for me for making chappathi and dosa in induction cooker. It's of the brand 'BUTTERFLY' costing 900 rs+. But I am seeing a lot of check-columns inside it and my dosas and chappathis are now with check designs. What's the purpose of those small square columns? Is it not possible to make chappathis in normal way?

Having checks on chapatis and dosas is for the purpose of giving an appeal t the food stuff. Let it be there. You are not going to lose the nutritional value.

You can make chapatis in normal way. But when you use a machine for any purpose, the product will be as designed by the machine manufacturer. The square chapatis should be no worse than round hand made chapatis.

It is meant for shallow frying which reduces the quantity of oil used..I too have one which I use only for making cutlets and shallow frys. I use a different pan for dosa and another pan for eggs ..

Along with the Teflon coating the squares may help the cause of the pan being non sticky.
