Is maternity leave admissible to unmarried female employees of government and private organizations.

Female employees of government and other concerns get maternity leave during pregnancy and some time after. Are unmarried female employees also entitle to this benefit. Now there is a trend of living in and extra marital relations also. H

I believe so. It is their right to get the leave during pregnancy whether married or not. Law does not mention anything about married relationship for the maternity leave. In fact it is clearly mentioned that married and unmarried employees should get the leave.

(b) Miscarriage/abortion (induced or otherwise):

There is no legal ways to prohibit it from getting maternity leave who is not married its for all women who had got pregnant.
One thing is at that time they sure have to take rest and care about the child
By humanity it should have to be given even though the relation is not legally bonded
