Who in your opinion is the best character actor among the three? 1, A.K.Hangal B, Utpal Dutt 3, Ifthekar

All the three you have mentioned were really strong actors and came across as men worth their salt.

Especially in serious roles that were heart rending, A. K. Hangal wins hands down any time, especially in the movie Sholay, hid dialogue 'arey bhai itna sannata kyon hai?' has become an iconic dialogue in a way.

Iftekar holds the distinction of playing the role of police officer the most number of times than any other actor, he shone in all those roles never once making them boring or monotonous each time he played it.

But my favorite will always remain Utpal Dutta with his toothy, impish grin and biting wit, I think his roles were the best examples of comedy that is clean, witty, and makes anyone laugh wholeheartedly without being cheap! Utpal Dutta will remain my favorite.

All are great actors. But, my all time favorite is Utpal dutt.

I like a.K. Hangal more than others. He was a very skilled actor. He came from stage to movies. The stage actors are more talented as there is no 'retake'

I agree that Utpal dutt is very talented and Ifthekar played one of a kind of role...however, my own personal favorite among the three is A.K.Hangal because he came across very strong in any role he played ...
