Is it really necessary to rename historic cities like Lucknow and Allahabad?

I dont really think it is necessary , Every city has got its own cultural heritage and has been named so due to some reason. A place is going to be the same place either be it Lucknow or be it called as Lakshanpur .

I don't think it is a good idea and how people are not against it is a bit surprising. It is a new trend in politics like Hyderabad to Bhagyanagar is another example which one politician said he will do. It is ridiculous to think that. Politics is going overboard.
