Death and birth are the ultimate reality of human existence. None can be denied or defied. What was created once will be destroyed. There is no way around it. Yet we see these two realities with a completely different perspective. Birth is considered the greatest miracle of life while death, the greatest tragedy.

Whether you believe in any religion or science, both ultimately agrees on one point that energy that exists in this universe can never be created nor destroyed. It merely transforms from one form to another. We are energy beings or as religious dogmas consider us as divine creatures. Whatever you may like to call humans but the truth remains the same; our life energy can neither be created nor destroyed. Birth and death are merely the process of transformation.

In many stories and in real life, death is considered a disastrous event. Death is feared and despised. But the wise know that death is not something to be frightened of or worried about. Death is a constant companion and a fellow traveler that accompanies us on this beautiful journey that we call life.

You are not the infant that you were when you were born. You are neither a child nor a teenager now, but an adult with a unique identity. Your infant and childhood forms are dead. Yet you do not mourn their loss because you know that those forms have merely transformed into you; an adult. Similarly you are not the same person you were a year ago or even yesterday. You are a new person who changes his form every day. Every single day your old tissues and cells die, to be replaced by new and healthy one. Everyday your old self dies to reveal a new form.

Your body is constantly changing. Yet you resist any change in your lives. You create a comfort zone around yourself. When necessary, you will make a few minor adjustments so that everything continues the same. You are afraid of the unknown and what lies on the other side. But change is the rule of nature. It cannot be avoided. So why not embrace these changes within yourself and all around you. Only then you will be able to gain a new perspective on life, and able to appreciate all the ordinary miracles happening around you.

When death is a fellow traveler why be afraid of it. Welcome it with open arms, like an old friend. It helped you to constantly grow and enjoy the fruits of life, now it's time for your final transformation. Embrace the change and accept it with an open heart.
