A preset from the enemy

King Revant Pratap of Raichur country was at war. He galloped into battle. E was a big, strong man and he waved a hue sword bravely n front of him s he dashed along. His enemies were terrified. They ran back across the dusty plain as he came near.

Suddenly the king’s horse was hit by an arrow. The great animal crashed to the ground, and Revant Pratap was pulled down with it into the dirt. His men helped him up and took him to his tent, but he could not rest. He must lead his army. He had to get another horse and go back to the fighting. But were could he find one strong enough to carry him?

Just then a servant came to Revant Pratap’s tent. He brought wit him two magnificent war-horses. ``sir,’’ he said, ``these are a present from Nasir navab. He saw you fall and he was sent you new horses to ride.

King Revant Pratap was amazed. Nasir navab was the leader o the enemy. He was a Muslim. And King Revant Pratap was a Hindu. He’d come to the east to drive the Hindus out of the holy place of Mantralyayam Brundavanam. Yet here was his enemy sending him present!

King Revant Pratap did not stand about thinking for long. He jumped on to one of the new horses and rode back into the battle. Both armies fought hard, and King Revant Pratap’s army won. But Revant Pratap was never able to defeat Nasir navab completely! Nor was he able to forget the present his enemy had sent him.
