Science is an obtaining knowledge by prediction through study and practice or experiment and observation. We can simply say science is study of living things and non living things. In our daily life every aspect depends up on science. So plays a major role in everything.

Actually the word science is extracted from scientia which is a Greek word. There are many fields in science. Let us know about each field.

They are:

1. Natural science
2. Formal science
3. Applied science
4. Social science

1. Natural science:

This is a study of universe which obeys rules and laws of natural origin. Biology, chemistry, earth science, physics, oceanography, materials science all these are natural science and these are interlinked.

Let us know about these natural sciences in brief.

Astronomy – It is a study of celestial objects like stars clusters and galaxy. It is oldest science. It’s an observation of cosmic background radiation which are related with physics, chemistry, meteorology and motion of celestial objects in formation of universe.

Biology – It is natural science and it is a study of life and living organisms the study in their functioning, growth behavior, reproductively etc. we even study about human body. How each and every organ functions grows inside the body and health. What kind of food important. How to maintain yourself etc.

Chemistry – It is a study of formation of non living things. It is related to composition, structure, material, atom, molecule of a particular mater. There are two types of chemistry. They are:

Organic chemistry and In organic chemistry.

Organic chemistry – this involves in the study and property of the structure, properties, composition reaction, the preparation of carbon and hydrocarbon based derivatives. This is mostly used in plastics, drugs, petrochemicals food, explosives paints etc.

Inorganic Chemistry – this deals with properties and behavior of inorganic components except carbon and hydrocarbon based components.

Earth science – Earth science is also known as Geo science. This is a planetary science. This is a study of atmosphere, oceans and biosphere.

Physics – It is a study of mater, motion, energy, force and time. This is mostly used to know how the universe behaves.

Astronomy and physics are similar fields.

Oceanography – this is a study of oceans. This is also known as marine science as it completely deals with oceans. This is branch of earth sciences. In this we can know about ocean currents and waves. Physical properties and across the ocean boundaries.

Material sciences – This is investigation of the relationship between the structures of materials. This is mainly used for forensic engineering.

Formal science – it is the study of mathematics which is concern with logics and helpful for physics, chemistry, earth science value calculations.

Applied science – this is especially for research and development. Some of chemistry and physics is interlinked with this science.

Social science – this deals with the behavior of human society.

In physics inventions are done through astronomy and earth sciences.

In chemistry inventions are done through components of mater.

In our daily life science is used in every aspect like pen, ink, fan, stove, oven etc.
