Ecosystem play a vital role in the environment .It is the system which help the human being to sustain.
Ecosystem can be defined as a biological community that make up its non-living or abiotic environment.The abiotic consists of the sun, temperature etc.The examples of the ecosystem are a pond, the forest , a grassland , an estuary.Ecosystems are made up of abiotic( non living environmental) and biotic components.These basic components are important to all types of ecosystems.Energy transformation and biogeochemical are the main process in ecosystem ecology.
In the processes of ecosystem the ecosystems have energy flows and ecosystem cycle materials.Energy is an input into an ecosystem in the form of light and it is tansformed to chemical energy in organic molecules which includes photosynthesis. and this is converted into heat energy in which the energy is lost during the transformation and it cannot be recycled.The nutrients on the other hand supply are erecyled within the ecosystem and they supply normal biological activity so enery flows , elements cycle.
Energy is moved through an eco system via food web ,which is made up of interlocking food chains.Energy is first transformed into ecosystem in the form of sun.Energy avaliable to organisms originate in plants as it is the first step in production of energy for living things iti is called primary production.Hebivores get energy by consuming plants or plant products , carnivores eat herbivores and detritivores consume the dropping and carcasses of us all.The amount of primary production determines the amount of energy available to higher trophic levels.
When we are going through this ecosystem we have to know which of these linkages in a food web are more important .To know these we need to talk about Biogeochemistry.This biogeochemisty is the study of how living systems influence,and are controlled by, the geology and chemisty of the earth and the biogeochemical cycle can be studied using the concepts of element ratio,mass balance andelement cycling
In controlling the ecosystem functions they are of two types :
bottom up control and
top down control
There are many different ecosystems: rainforests and tundra,coral reefs and ponds,grasslands and deserts.Climate differences from place to place determine the types of ecosystems.Biome is a vegetation type extending over large area these distributations are determined by temperature and precipitation on eathh's surface.
The ecosystem should be maintained by us properly so has to have a healthy life.
