Adaptation is the process of evolution in which an organism develops some better changes in themselves to live. Adaptation is common feature found in animals and this is natural thing which they develop in themselves to protect themselves from climatic conditions and those species which don’t get developed as per the climatic conditions extinct from this earth. The most common examples of adaption are Chameleon and Cactus. Cactus is basically a plant found in desert area where there is scarcity of water and unlike other plants it can survive without water for many days. They don’t have leaves unlike other plants. There leaves have evolved in the spines and these spines condense moisture which drips down to get absorbed by the roots. Water which is essential for plants to make food by photosynthesis but cactus is a plant which can survive unlike other plants without water for many days. Chameleon is another example of adaptation. Chameleon can change its skin color and can hide itself in the surroundings to protect it from the predators. Their tongue is larger than their body and they can shoot out their tongue to catch insects from a distance. Their eyes are bit different than any other animals as they can see two different things with each eye independently at same time. Their claws are stronger than others and can hold anything strongly. Camel is also an animal which is best fitted to live in deserts. It too can stay without water as it conserves water in its body in the hump which it has on its back. Feet of camel too are suited to walk fast in the sand of deserts. It can run faster than any animal in deserts. It’s great to see that these changes come automatically with in the species with the generation and are really helpful for their survival. There are many species today on the earth which are on the verge of extinction as they can’t able to adapt as per the climatic conditions. Many of the plants and animals which live on north pole and they need very low temperature to survive but due to global warming they are in danger as temperature there is rising which can be harmful for them and may cause them extinct fully from this earth.
