Social evils of India
India is developing country with the second highest population in the world and consists of diversities in culture, caste, religion food, laguage, etc. But there is unity in the country and hence, there is peace and harmony. To develop futher, we have to eradicate the social evils and have to change the mindset. Even, the rich and very educated people have not yet changed. Still they indulge in activities like female infanticide. secondly still the yungsters are not allowed to choose their own life partners. This is what is still going on and this is what the real condition or we can say thet the worst situation of India is. Also, there are many other social evils which exists in India and which need to be changed Some of the social evils are as follows :-
1. Poverty
This is the most common evil which exists in India. There is a great line of poverty where people are not able to fulfill their basic need of life such as house, clothing, food, water, etc. The richer became richer and the poors became more poorer. To develop India, there is a great need to fill up this gap of poverty as soon as we can. This poverty is becoming wider and wider because of unemployment and joblessness in India. Because of large popualttion in India, even the educated people are sitting jobless and unemployed.
2. Education to girls
The second most common evil is the education to girls. Today also, most of the girls are not allowed to get education and if they are allowed, they are forced later to stop studying an learn household works as they get married at very earlier age. Society should be motivated to give the education to girls so that they can become independent and can contribute to country,s financial assests. They don't have to be a burden on anyone as she can earn on her own. The society should be encouraged to allow the girls to study at good colleges. If this happens, India will lead to a great development.
3. Choice to have have baby boy and girl infaticides
This mentality to have a baby boy leads to female infaticide. Today also, this mentality to have baby boy prevails in India to a great extent just because people think that a boy will lead their name higher but not a girl as one day she has to go to her husband.s house so a girl will not provide with anything to her parents. this thinking of the society towrds a girl should be removed totally and should not be at all encouraged then only, we can have a developed India by removing this social evil.
4. Child marriages
This is also one of the most common social evil that is still prevailing in Indian socities. Child marriages are still often seen in the Indian Societies where a child gets married at the age of just 10 or 12 years and rhey become parents at the age of just 18 or 19 years. They don't even get matured at the age of 18 years but they have a child in their hand to take care of - a biggest responsibility on them. And the result is, they on't know how to brought a child and the child just becomes an educated and illiterate person. This should never be encouraged in a society and this child marriages stopped immediately.
5. Dowry
Dowry is another one of the most common and most deep rooted social evil in India. This is the major factor which results in female infanticides. As the family of a girl has to give dowry to her in - laws family in her marriage compulsorily whether they are capable for it or not or whether they can afford it or not but they have to provide the girl's in - laws family with the expensive gifts and clothes and this is one of the major factor that poor people mostly avoid to have a girl. Or if they marry a girl, the demand of in - laws for dowry force a girl to commit suicide or else, they murder her if at all she denies to bring dowry fom her father. It is most important for India to take the strong and effective actions to stop dowry system in India.
6. Domestic violence
Domestic violence aganist a woman also comes uner the social evil of an Indian society. According to a survey, around 70% of Indian women are the victims of domestic violence and they have no right and liberty to secure themselves aganist this. The Indian Government and the Indian judiciary should take the strict actions aganist the persons who does this domestic violence to a girl or to a woman. If this is removed, India can be at higher position in growth and development.
7. Child prostitution
This is the worst social evil pervailin in India, i.e., child prostitution. The child girl of nearly 10 to 12 years are forced by their families only into prostitution so that they can earn money from her. According to a survey, around 1.2 million child girls are forced into sexual activities like prostitution by her families only. If this kind of worst and cheap social evils exists in India, then we can never think of a developed and clear India of which we dream of. Hence, it is very important to remove this and the Indian Government should try its harest to remove this evil from the Indian socities.
Conclusion
The above mentioned are some of the social evils which are mostly seen in the Indian societies and they are very common everywher, in every state in India as they are very deep rooted. It's not that these are the only social evils which prevails in our society. Apart from these, caste discrimination, gender inequality, child labour and child exploitation, etc. are also some of the evils which commonly prevails in our country. If these evils will be present here, its of no use to think of a devloped India. These social evils are proved to be the major hinrances in the social development of our country. The best way to remove these is to organise good informative programs for the people from the Goverment and to take strict actions and to make effective laws aganist the persons who all are indulge in these activities. This is the best way to rmove these and to get rid from these evils. Hope the day will come soon when India will be free from these worst and cheap evils !!!!!!
