Kangaroo Mother Care was initially started in Columbia and in all over the world. This is a method of care of low-birth-weight and preterm babies.  In this method, the infant is carried by mother, father or substitute caregiver with skin-to-skin contact. This is accomplished by keeping the baby in kangaroo position (upright position) and stomach down on the mother's bare chest. The baby in KMC is breast-fed exclusively. Skin-to skin contact facilitates the feeding interaction.
