News has just come today on times channel that a total of 26 schools have been burnt by separatists in the valley. There is no education going on in the valley worth the name with almost perpetual curfew and daily attacks on army and other forces. The situation is grim and calls for surgery. Can Modi do it or in the ultimate analysis Kashmir is a lost cause? There can be no glossing over and rhetoric statements like Modi will solve the problem have no meaning.

These separatists have been let to grow for this many years because of the policies adopted by the previous govts..now there is little option but to take extremely harsh measures against the lot and chase them out .. honestly, when you have people within the nation who have let this happen , how can we blame others ?

I wonder how long current ruling circles can shelter behind failures of previous govt. May be for their entire tenure after which others will blame the present rulers similarly. This is endless circle of blame game- each successive ruling set up blaming the previous and doing nothing.

Modi is not a Man  who sticks to mere statements. He is a man of action. In the case of School burning cases, PM Modi asked HM to to take stock of the situation and take a suitable action. It is yet to be known, if Burning of Schools is the Handiwork of Miscreants or Militants. Once the facts come out, you can see what Modi is capable of.

i completely agree with you. People are apt to take shelter by blaming previous governments.

Terrorists may have been allowed to breathe earlier but what stops the present government to announce a full scale war which will include dismissal of present government and imposition of presidents rule.

Of Course, a full scale war can be announced. Present Government has already holding talks with the HM. Before announcing war, President's consent is necessary.  Things will not happen overnight. a war may cause several disasters to both India and Pakistan.

Everyday jawans are getting killed. Pakistan is not affected by surgical strike and had increasedits activities on the border. The coalition BJP and PDP is a flop. Schools and government building s are being burnnt down wih impuniy. But government is busy blaming past governments and BJP is only interested in scoring victories against Congress, and Nehru. Everyday we have to hear and see imaginary utterances by minister's. The situation is not good and seems to be a long drawn affair with no exact plan to resolve it in sight. All governments are same.

This is not the first time that Kashmir valley has faced such dire consequences , much worse has happened many times before and then led to war ..One can never be sure what the outcome might be this time  and the govt and the defense ministry must be having a plan of action which of course they may not disclose esp when it is  known that  there are enemies within the nation and in higher up places ..

We lost the plot in 1947 when Nehru went to UN and agreed for cease fire in 1948. He agreed for 40% of Kashmir occupied by Pak and again showed poor strategic sense. Now his successors have followed his policy. Even Indira despite a victory in Bangladesh war agreed to incorporate Kashmir in Simla accord. But remember Kashmir has never burned like this before. I have been to Kashmir 35 times and spent years there. This NEVER happened that curfew etc was imposed for MONTHS. Ceaser was warned to beware of the Ides of March. The future?  Who can tell.

It is culture of Indian politics. Previous government was not good for it people chose you. Now it time to prove that selection of public is right one.
