Recently, a physically handicapped artist was physically attacked and his work vandalized in a Delhi art exhibition because the theme of his work was gay. .

it is for organizers to see that art work displayed is good enough for public display. It is highly undemocratic and uncivilized to let any other organization indulge in such vandalism.

    This shows that gay system is still not accepted in India and people do not tolerate even paintings related to it. However, it is ridiculous to attack the artist for that. In such case M.F.Hussian must have been executed for insulting the Hindu deities. But it just became some controvery and finally he left India. Maybe small artists do not have rights to escape like him.

    There may be vulgar and undesirable art work that should not be publicly displayed. There should be no issue with restricted display among art students.

    It should be responsibility of organizers of art exhibition to ensure that any provocative material is not publicly displayed. The decision of organizers and concerned authority must be final. Any vandalism and coercion by others must be ruthlessly suppressed and artist be protected.
