What does a Pope do. It is widely felt that the religious authorities have no useful function. Fidel Castro also may be feeling so. Hence he asked Pope what he does.

That was a good question that Castro asked the Pope, because other than taking part in ceremonies and foreign tours, Pope is like our President who is a figure head with nothing much to contribute except spend money

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Pope is not even like our President. He is just head of Vatican city in Italy. I don't understand the logic behind giving separate statehood to a city for religious reason. Thus some may demand such status in and around Amritsar Golden temple, Dwarkadheesh temple in Mathura and so on.

It is good that India does not support such division. Making separate state due to religious matters is not at all good. People should solve problem other way round.

That's really good query for pope..I think in India such type of separate statehood can be easily given if people in some holy places fight for it..

This may create civil war in places where Hindu and Muslim both exists. India has many a times experienced it in past. I don't support this.
Frankly speaking things are much more organised there than here ! Vatican is a beautifully organised city that stuns you with its architecture - There is no comparison to here...I too would definitely hate the idea of having a separate statehood based on religion, cannot work in India with its multi- religious back ground..

good to see that our country is not a part of such custom and it does support religious basis separation.......People live together in one state.....There is no separation on religious basis...............
The Pope is leader of the Catholic Church, the world's largest group of Christians.
His decisions affect over a billion followers around the world.
