Religion neutral marriage

Marriages are usually held according to religious rites- Hindu, Muslim, Christian etc. How religion is linked to marriage. So, now religion neutral marriage registration is being considered by government.

    Yes. It will be. But there may be more complexity in inheritance of forefathers' property and other things associated with religion based personal law. Even though marriage is religion neutral, the spouses still belong to some religion and they may face issues that are guided by personal law of community. The whole topic need be seen from a holistic angle and whole body of law be made religion neutral.

Even a single application form is not available where separate columns for caste and religion are not given. While filling some forms, I often wonder, are they necessary??????

    Caste is a relevant factor for services, ration cards and various benefits. So, caste is practically required. But this system must be changed. The various benefits should be on basis of income and not caste. It will be best to remove 'caste' and 'religion' and make the entire system caste and religion neutral.

    If we want our nation to see developed, first remove the discrimination and separation of people based on caste and religion. Yes, it should be based on income only. Actually many Brahmin families are there in our country, who never get any benefit from government even if they are poor. Isn't it?
