Retirement is really a boon for those who worked hard in active life. This is time to enjoy more leisure, do what you always wanted but had no time.

I always wanted to specialize in some form of art when I was active in my service. Though the job was a visualiser’s, I could not give full time because of other departmental jobs. Then I took a daring step. I took voluntary retirement against the wishes of my family members. My firm belief was, if I could give more time, to hone up my skills, I can earn much more than what I was earning while I was in service. I could do it. No regrets. No complaints. As I dreamed, I was not only earning more than my earlier income, I have learned more skills to stand up to the expectations of the market. And the process of learning goes on.
For me retirement is a boon. Not a bane.

Actually, you have not retired but only change job. I had also similarly retired voluntarily from government job.

That’s a good thing you have done. The satisfaction derived out of earning through a skill of your own is beyond words. A rupee earned thus looks like a fortune.

Nothing bed in retirement. it is right of person to retired. But one should not be tired after retirement. A person who live active after retirement live healthy and fit. I am running shop so no age is fixed for retirement. I will work their till my health favour it.

Thats great ! When you have self confidence in yourself everything is possible and within your reach and you have achieved it ! But not many have the guts or the confidence to do what their heart dictates..

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Please don’t think that I’m blowing my own trumpet. A couple of publishers having a multi crore business come personally to my home with the jobs and advance payment. After completing the assigned job, I mail them that their job is ready. They come and , check if the finished work is according to their norms. Though there are occasions when I had to do some corrections, they are very less in number.

You are right, I retired from my active job to work all over again. I am having fun being my own boss although I am working as much as I did or more than that. .
