    I am not assured but I read and listen that ancestors of Indians are taller than present generation.

    The fact it people from Holland, Sweden, Norway, German, Switzerland figure in tallest people in the world. And almost all belong to Scandinavian area as Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and also in Northern Europe as Finland, Norway, Iceland etc are situated there.

    Most amazing fact is that a stupendous growth occurred in European region during the 2 world wars and the great depression when poverty and inadequate food availability needed for growth, due to war were at their lowest.

    A clear indication of their hard work which kept them tougher and also helped them grew taller and stronger. Weather conditions and environment are other factors.
